YONG-RAE KWON

ABOUT ARTIST YONG R. KWON As I meet the darkness… Try being alone in pitch-black darkness and truly experience the darkness. On one hand, the darkness swallows everything around it until it seems there is nothing. On the other hand, objects will undoubtedly appear in the darkness. The beginning of all was darkness. As a door is opened inside the darkness, which once revealed no hint of consciousness, an excruciating yet warming ray of light pierces the door opening. Consciousness awakens within the dark of a coma-like state. The awakening is as short and concise as a shriek. My artwork holds light. It reflects light in ways that embody and make apparent the nature and existence of light itself. Light is scattered in a powerful...

BYUNG-JIN KIM

ABOUT ARTIST KIM BYUNG JIN Kim Byung Jin is a highly sought after artist by developers from the world’s major cities, to fill their hotel lobbies and offices buildings. His work is composed of countless letter, logos, or shapes that build into another figure, showing two images with one work. It is up to the viewer to decide which image he or she chooses to see. His work is a highly elaborate and time consuming. The artwork is first given its initial look through 3D digital imaging or sketches. Based on the sketch, Kim creates the shape using clay, plaster, or FRP plastic. On top of this base shape, he painstakingly molds together these countless shapes or letters in steel to create the exact same...

BYUNG-JOO KIM

ABOUT ARTIST KIM BYUNG JOO Byung Joo Kim's works started from his visual curiosity about the boundaries of space. His famous relief works, Ambiguous Wall, breaks down buildings by eliminating 'surfaces' and leaving only lines and dots. Resulting spaces, which has been made unclear of what's 'inside' and what's 'outside' by these 'ambiguous walls', now clash and overlap each other opening up a new space more subjective to new interpretations and possibilities. Ambiguous Wall induces the audiences to activate a high level of spatial perception awareness. It is a visualization of invisible space, a multilayered and multidimensional structure of endless intersections of horizontal and vertical lines which gradually come closer and eventually overlap each other by perspective system.  The work is created of delicate steel,...
